We have received calls and e-mails from quilters who submitted checks for the room lottery at the Executive Inn that have been cashed and no confirmations have been received. AQS is working with the attorneys from the City of Paducah and McCracken County, as well as the Kentucky Attorney General to determine what has happened with these monies and who has rooms confirmed.
As soon as we know more, we will post it on our Web site, http://www.americanquilter.com/, and here on our Blog.

The Executive Inn cashed my check on 7/30/08. I have a copy of my canceled check. Is there a need to FAX it somewhere in case the money has somehow vaporized? If I don't get refunded I'm out over $500. Did they cash everyone's check or just the lottery winners?
If you have had your check cashed by the Executive Inn and have not received a confirmation for a room, please forward a copy of the front and back of your check to AQS. The State Attorney General is investigating the cashed checks. You can fax your check (front and back) to: 270-898-1173, e-mail it to sylvia@AQSquilt.com, or mail it to AQS, Attn: Sylvia Thomas, PO Box 3290, Paducah, KY 42002-3290
Thank you. I have emailed Sylvia with attachments. I do hope this can be resolved.
This latest news needs to be put out for everyone to see-not just people reading the comments. I am very upset about the situation. This would have been my first time coming to Paducah-and now this whole mess has made me not want to come. I hope AQS can resolve this quickly!
I agree. There are probably a lot of folks out there who are still patiently waiting to hear from the Executive Inn. In order to get an accurate picture of how much money has possibly gone missing people need to be made aware this is a problem. Had I not dug relentlessly on the internet I would not have known the extent of the problems going on. People need to know what their options are. Will the quilt show be moved to a different location since the water and power have been turned off at the convention center as well as the Inn, and there appears to be no resolution in sight?
Well, I guess I'm one of the many who had their check cashed and never heard back. I was given the contact information to the McCracken County Attorney's office. How very disappointing. $500 down the drain. I did notice that they had cashed my check within a week of receiving it. They wasted NO time! I am crossing my fingers that I will get this money back!
My check was cashed and I did receive a confirmation number for a room. Was this room lottery all just a scam? If AQS does not make this right it would be reprehensible. They were the ones who offered the lottery in the first place. What the !@#$ is going on?? I have already bought my airplane ticket. Is there going to be a show or not????? Does anyone out there know who to contact to get correct information regarding this hotel fiasco?
